Half Term Tech Workshop
Wednesday 15th February '17
- Ages 7-14 1:30 - 4:30pm
o Learn the Hummingbird Board - how to
o Learn the Crumble Board - how to
o Brainstorm - solutions to the problem
o Design & Make - your solution
The Hummingbird and Crumble boards allow for some exciting and imaginative makes. During this Hackathon session children will work collaboratively to solve a given problem, adding sensors and motors to create inputs and outputs, then create the code for a program that will enable interactions. In short, they will 'Make Stuff Do Stuff!'
All 'makes' will be filmed and shared over the Clubs Facebook page so that children can proudly share their work with family and friends. All in all, they'll be making, building, coding, exploring and remixing, with some challenges thrown in too.
As well as the skills that are being directly taught, such as circuits, or programming etc... there will be lots of opportunities to gain soft skills (team work, communication of ideas, mindmapping, collaboration etc...).
Participants should bring a laptop, if possible (if this is not possible, let us know, we have a small supply of our own).

The South Hall entrance is to the back of the building, there will be green arrows pointing the way.

Q: When should I collect my child(ren)?
A: Please collect your techies promptly at 4:30pm.
Q: I'd like someone else to collect, is that possible.
